34 black girls went missing in DC. One question: WHERE IS THE MEDIA COVERAGE? I turn on the news every day, every night and it's Trump filled. Where is the uproar? Where are the white feminists that held up their signs at the woman's march? Where are all those people who chant "ALL LIVES MATTER"? When we go missing, there is silence. Silence is deadly. The cries for help I hear on the news about little white girls who go missing suddenly don't apply to little black girls. I see people on social media saying "Don't make this a race thing. Just find the girls". However, it is a race thing. So let's keep bringing race up. The press is 4 times more likely to report when a white person goes missing than a black person. That doesn't surprise me. The least amount of us there is the better, right? Think about it though, would this issue be treated the same if these girls didn't look like me? If there skin tone was a little lighter than mine? If their hair was way less kinky? You see what I'm getting at? The lack of concern for black children by the law enforcement is sickening. They label these little black girls runaways and wipe their hands over the situation. It's easier that way, I'm assuming. When you label a missing person as a runaway, they don't receive media coverage: let that marinate. Let's just entertain the fact if some of these girls were runaways, does that mean they're exempt from being kidnapped? being trafficked? being murdered? If these little black girls are running away from their homes, why are there nonchalant responses about it? Explain it to me. How is it that 36.7% of missing people under 17 are black BUT we make up 13% of the population? I seen all of the missing persons profiles for these girls, however two stood out the most to me. Two of them made me cringe. Two of them made me upset. Oh, law enforcement, you never cease to amaze me. You all used a 16 and 17 year old's mugshot to tell your communities that they're missing. However, when a white person murders their entire family, you use a picture of them from a family vacation. Brilliant. Since we're speaking on law enforcement, they also said the number of missing child cases dropped in the area from 2,422 in 2015 to 2,242 in 2016. Okay, officers. I should sleep better at night knowing the numbers dropped but there are still little black girls missing? Why are we talking numbers? ONE child missing is too many. What if these were YOUR daughters?

34 black girls are missing, but I guess finding Tom Brady's jersey is more important.
